On January 6, the completed studio in my new location welcomed its first students. After designing a custom studio space in my old house just 3 years ago, it was hard to have to start again from scratch, but the result is a studio that is substantially larger and more light-filled. I thought you might enjoy these photos of before-during-and-after.
- What to do with a big open basement? Partition it off with walls…
- Looking from future hallway to future studio
- Looking back “through the wall” from the studio to the hallway
- Future wall line
- Flooring and paint completed
- Trying out the piano acoustics in the new location
- A big open box…
- …and can you spot the iconic vessel in view out the window?
- Entering the studio now, it’s full of light and color.
- Large windows bring in the daylight.
- Room for multi-instrument lessons, and an audience too!
- Students have access to the “steampunk bathroom,” full of musical surprises!
