Note Names:

On the Staff  30 questions, 4 minutes

Note Construction  20 questions, 2 minutes

Rhythm:

Counting  In-Studio Only (iPad app): Receive at least a Purple Belt on the Ningenius Rhythm test at Ningenius level.

Ear Training:

Half Steps, Whole Steps, Thirds, Fourths, Fifths and Octaves  (Minor 2nd is Half Step, Major 2nd is Whole Step. Major 3rds only.)  Answer 20 questions in 4 minutes.

HELPFUL INTERVAL PROMPTS:
Minor 2nd = “Jaws”
Major 2nd = first two notes of a major scale or “Happy Birthday”
Major 3rd = “Kum-ba-ya” or climbing up “Doe a Deer”
Perfect 4th = “Here Comes the Bride”
Perfect 5th = “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”
Octave = “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”

Intervals on the Staff:

Half Steps, Whole Steps, Thirds, Fourths, Fifths and Octaves   Note: m2 is a half step, M2 is a whole step. Major 3rds only.  Answer 25 questions correctly in 4 minutes.

Scales:

Scale Construction, on the staff  Add sharps or flats to create each scale. Includes natural minors. 20 questions, 4 minutes.

Key Signatures:

Key Signature Identification  15 questions, 2 minutes. Major keys only.

Key Signature Construction  20 questions, 3 minutes.
